Fund Formation
Finam is working with FinSight Ventures and Ashika Group to help investors get into the Indian market, both private and public.
First, FinSight Ventures and Ashika Group are launching a $100 million venture fund, FinSight India Fund I, for early-stage tech firms.
Later, Finam and Ashika Group will let Russian investors trade stocks on the NSE and BSE exchanges. They'll start with tools for algo traders in Russia and create funds, like BPIF (ETF), and managed strategies using Finam Management. Eventually, they plan to open the Indian market to all investors.
FinSight Ventures, founded in 2004, invests in tech startups in the US and India, managing $800 million. They have offices in Los Angeles, New York, and Bangalore.
Ashika Group, based in Kolkata, India, is a finance company offering investment banking, asset management, and brokerage services.
Finam, a Russian investment group since 1994, operates in over 40 countries with 90 Russian offices. It includes a brokerage, an investment bank, Finam Management, Finam.ru, Finam Forex, and a training center.
